There has been a secondary school on this site for eight decades. Though the original buildings remain, a number of others have been added over the years to accommodate more students and a wider curriculum.
The most recent physical addition was the new addition of A Block which opened in 2020; however, there has been a significant investment in improving facilities for students in recent years. Many rooms in our five buildings are now equipped with digital projectors and interactive whiteboards. As a school we actively invest in technology to promote learning.
Our emphasis has been on refurbishment and redesign and students have recognised how the learning environment has significantly improved – in the summer of 2021 our first outdoor food pod arrived followed by an outside food truck in the summer of 2022.
Tented social areas have been developed for students to enjoy around the site at break and lunchtimes. New flooring, lighting and windows all help to create a light and airy learning environment and a pleasant place for everyone to enjoy.
The school site adjoins the local leisure centre and as such our students enjoy access to a range of high quality sporting facilities such as a gym, squash courts and a swimming pool.
